Teak Furniture: Taking Care of Your Investment

Quality teak furniture is not inexpensive, and there's a reason for that. Teak is one of the best materials on the market for furniture. It's an exotic hardwood that is resistant to rot, bugs and with very little care will last for many years, whether you leave it outdoors or enjoy the beauty of teak furniture indoors. Left to its own, teak furniture will age gracefully. It will go from its original honey gold color to a silver-gray over the years. This is natural, as the oils in the wood slowly deplete. That's not to say that it needs to be replaced. While the color changes, the teak itself remains strong and is highly resistant to weathering and cracking. If you decide to keep your teak furniture looking like new, then you'll need to protect the finish. You can do this a number of ways. First, you can use a teak protector, which will keep your teak looking beautiful all season. It does need to be applied seasonally, however.
Chainsaws take a good deal of care and maintenance to keep them working safely and at optimum performance. Probably the most important element in looking after your chainsaw is ensuring your blade (or the chain) is always sharp. How do you know when your blade is blunt?
